Lunchtime Commons

Lunchtime Commons will begin on Monday 28th of May. It is served in the East Dining Hall at 1pm. Scholars must sign in by 11am on the day.

Wine Commons

Wine Commons will be held on Friday 25 May so please bring a bottle of wine or similar beverage to commons on that evening. We will make our way to the Pav after commons.

Signing in for Commons

Scholars who sign in for Commons and do not attend must email the Catering department commons@tcd.ie / cmcauley@tcd.ie explaining their reasons for non-attendance. This email should be sent, preferably in advance, but certainly within a reasonable time after the evening in question (i.e. unless you have good reason for doing so, don't be emailing them three weeks after you missed Commons). Scholars who miss Commons twice in one month and have not provided an explanation for their absence on either occasion may be fined. Where a scholar repeatedly fails to attend Commons (for example four times or more in a term), and fails to provide any explanation for any of these occasions, the matter may be looked into by the Junior Dean. In such circumstances the Junior Dean retains a discretion to impose a reasonable and appropriate fine, having regard to the individual circumstances of the case.

Welcome to the Scholars' Website. This website is designed to allow the community of Scholars, past and present, to meet and keep in touch. It also aims to be the primary information source for everything to do with the Foundation Scholarship system in Trinity. We will be seeking to improve and add features to the site over the coming months, so if you have any suggestions or comments please email the webmaster.

For current Scholars, this site will most frequently be used to sign in for Commons — remember to do so before 3 pm each weekday.

Our site allows you to browse the list of all Scholars for several decades, and to search for Scholars by name, by year of election or by discipline.

Scholars may send personal messages to one another, and may leave a short biography on the site. We hope that Scholars will be able to exchange advice, information and ideas with other Scholars, particularly those in similar disciplines who never met in College.

We aim to use this site, and our periodic newsletter sent out via email, to keep former Scholars informed of current goings-on in College that may be of interest to them. For example, former Scholars may not be aware of the completion of the Review of Scholarship, and may like to read about its recommendations.

We are also trying to collect photographs of past Trinity Mondays — please send us any photographs you would be willing to share and add to our archive.

Please note that in order to use some of these features you will be required to log in.
