The following are pages about training from Luke Conroy's 1999 DUBC novice website. They are possibly a little outdated and are probably originally stolen from another site. The comments under the links are also original. Do what your coach tells you, not what a web page tells you:

    Coxing*
One Chief and eight Indians, remember? Coxing is tough in a different way. Even if you're a rower, give this a read and understand how difficult their jobs are. They only shout because you make them.

    Rowing and Sculling*
As different as chalk and, uhh, a slightly differenty kind of chalk... if you do feel more comfortable with a pair in your hands, find out some of the subtleties of the sculling art here!

    Novice Training*
If you feel that you're not performing up to scratch, sharpen up your technique here ... without the need for 8 other people.

    Technique Flowchart*
A step by step guide to ... stuff about rowing (surprisingly!) Please send suggestions for a semi-witty/lewd comment for here!
